The company announced the change on September 4, with the first cards scheduled for mailing in early December 2026. ## Finer redemption without a larger award The practical change is the unit of use: the existing booklets contain JPY500 coupons that do not provide change, while the electronic card can be spent in JPY1 increments. The new format also works at participating locations’ self-service checkout equipment, which the paper vouchers do not support. Holders of at least 2,000 shares continue to qualify for JPY12,500, changing from a 25-coupon booklet to one loaded card. There is no reduction or increase in these face values. The March 31 and September 30 qualifying dates, twice-yearly mailing schedule in late June and early December, and eight-month validity period continue. The company’s existing programme page explains that the validity period had already increased from six to eight months for the March 2026 qualifying distribution, mailed in June. That extension therefore predates the electronic-card change. Recipients can present the barcode printed on the card or scan its QR code to use a smartphone. A smartphone is an available route, not the only way to present the benefit. Daiichi Kosho plans to publish the detailed instructions in early December, alongside mailing. The group’s eligible karaoke and dining locations include Big Echo, Karaoke Mac, Rakuzo and Jibundoki. The alternative of exchanging the whole benefit for selected album CDs continues: one album for the lower share tier or two for the higher tier. The programme page restricts the CD alternative to shareholders resident in Japan. The disclosure changes how an existing allowance is used. It does not report how many recipients will choose cards, how much will be redeemed or whether self-service use will increase.
