Diggecard announced the appointment on June 6, 2022, naming [Sean Wilkinson](https://giftcard.news/person/sean-wilkinson/) as his predecessor. IMA Europe is part of the US-based Incentive Marketing Association. At the time of the announcement, the European association had more than 100 member companies spanning employee engagement, merchandise, incentive travel, loyalty and gift cards. Johnson’s role included working with the commercial director and board on member engagement. The announcement described virtual meetings, online coffee discussions and in-person events as ways members could connect. The association was returning to in-person activity, with events in Paris and Amsterdam mentioned in the announcement. Diggecard said future events would continue to cover incentive marketing and innovation, including the Innovation Showcase. Diggecard was itself an IMA Europe member.
