The agreement followed an initial launch in April and set out a phased expansion across 36 countries. [\[S01\]](#article-source-1) [\[S02\]](#article-source-2) The proposition was to let customers purchase digital content, send gifts and receive rewards without leaving the financial app. For epay, a division of [Euronet Worldwide](https://giftcard.news/company/euronet-worldwide/), it created an additional mobile distribution channel for the brands in its network. [\[S01\]](#article-source-1) The release named [Twitch](https://giftcard.news/company/twitch/), [IKEA](https://giftcard.news/company/ikea/), [Nintendo](https://giftcard.news/company/nintendo/) and [Spotify Premium](https://giftcard.news/company/spotify/) among the digital-content brands, spanning shopping, entertainment and other categories. It reported 15 million Revolut customers at the time; that was the app's overall customer base, not the number using gift cards. [\[S02\]](#article-source-2) ## Distribution inside an existing customer journey A financial app already has a relationship with its users. Adding gift cards gives a brand another place to be discovered and purchased, while giving the app another reason for a customer to return. The integration places that activity within a familiar interface instead of sending the customer through a separate purchasing journey. [Kevin Caponecchi](https://giftcard.news/person/kevin-j-caponecchi/), epay's CEO, framed the relationship as an infrastructure role supporting international distribution. Revolut product owner [Maisum Dairkee](https://giftcard.news/person/maisum-dairkee/) emphasised access to content through the existing app experience. Those were the partners' stated aims, not independently measured improvements in retention.
