# Epos Now merchants gain Factor4 gift cards through its app marketplace

Factor4's Epos Now integration places gift-card sales, redemption and reporting inside an established merchant software distribution channel.

[Factor4](https://giftcard.news/company/factor4/) has connected its gift-card service to [Epos Now](https://giftcard.news/company/epos-now/)'s app marketplace, giving the point-of-sale provider's merchants an integrated route to sell and redeem physical and digital cards. The partnership was announced on March 5, 2026\. [\[S01\]](#article-source-1)

The distribution route is central to the deal. Factor4 can reach businesses through software they already use at checkout, while Epos Now adds a specialist service without building a separate gift-card platform itself.

## Two different parts of the merchant relationship

Epos Now began in Norwich, England, in 2011\. Founder [Jacyn Heavens](https://giftcard.news/person/jacyn-heavens/) created the business after his own experience with small-business till systems. It now supplies point-of-sale software and payments products; its current company page reports more than 80,000 business locations and over 130 integrations. Those are company-wide figures, not adoption counts for Factor4\. [\[S03\]](#article-source-3)

Factor4 operates the gift-card processing layer and supplies card production, fulfilment and programme support. Its business includes working through payment and software partners to reach merchants. [\[S04\]](#article-source-4)

The fit is practical. A retailer or restaurant already depends on its point-of-sale system to record the sale. Connecting gift value to that workflow can reduce the need to operate a separate terminal or manually reconcile another set of transaction records. The extent of that benefit will depend on the merchant's previous setup.

## The records behind a card balance

Epos Now's Factor4 listing describes reporting for issuance, redemption, voids and balance enquiries. It also identifies a processing account and card fulfilment as part of onboarding. These are the operational foundations of a branded card programme, rather than an advertising offer alone. [\[S02\]](#article-source-2)

A gift-card sale creates value the merchant must later recognise when the recipient spends it. The useful function of the integration is keeping those movements visible within the business's normal operating environment. A reliable balance record is necessary whether a card generates an extra visit or simply pays for a purchase the customer already planned.

Factor4 chief executive [Dan Battista](https://giftcard.news/person/dan-battista/) said the partnership was intended to widen merchants' access to gift-card tools and improve their operations. The release identifies retail and hospitality customers and support for online and in-store activity. [\[S01\]](#article-source-1)

For Factor4, an app marketplace can reduce the work of reaching each merchant individually. For Epos Now, a wider set of compatible services can make its platform more useful and reduce a customer's reason to look elsewhere. Those are commercial incentives of the arrangement, not disclosed revenue-sharing terms.

## Availability is not the same as uptake

The public announcement does not give a price for the integration, a minimum contract or the number of merchants that activated it. Epos Now's listing also makes a broad repeat-purchase claim without supplying a study that establishes that result for this deployment. [\[S02\]](#article-source-2)

The immediate development is expanded access to gift-card infrastructure. Whether it produces incremental revenue for a merchant depends on programme costs, customer behaviour and execution, rather than the fact that the app is available to install.
