In its March 14, 2026 article, the bank said $200,000 of its own gifts had been supplemented through the Member Impact Fund. The largest allocations were $157,500 for Bishop Dudley Hospitality House's Open Doors, Open Arms campaign, $140,000 for the Sioux Falls Zoo & Aquarium project and $112,000 for the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Sioux Empire's program at George McGovern Middle School. Flandreau Sports Association received $87,500 toward the volunteer-built Warehouse recreation facility. Veterans Community Project of Sioux Falls received $43,750 for its housing and support work, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sioux Falls received $36,750, and LifeScape Foundation received $35,000 toward its Children's Services Campus, which broke ground in 2024. Five further organizations each received $17,500: Call to Freedom, Children's Home Society of South Dakota, Sioux Falls Cares, TeamMates Mentoring of Sioux Falls and The Banquet Sioux Falls. The supported work includes care for trafficking survivors, family shelter, delivery of gifts and necessities, student mentoring and meals. The zoo and aquarium grant supports a new butterfly house and aquarium. The bank said the Butterfly Emergence Window would be named for [Richard C. Baker](https://giftcard.news/person/richard-c-baker/). TeamMates, meanwhile, cited an average cost of $450 to support a mentoring relationship when describing the role of local funding. The bank also identified employee connections with the recipients: [Maggie Groteluschen](https://giftcard.news/person/maggie-groteluschen/) serves on the Bishop Dudley board, [Bob Baker](https://giftcard.news/person/bob-baker/) on the Children's Home Foundation board, and [Jessica Pfeifer](https://giftcard.news/person/jessica-pfeifer/) on The Banquet's executive board. Staff volunteering and previous housing support formed part of those relationships. First National Bank placed its donations within the wider 2026 Member Impact Fund activity in South Dakota. It reported that 56 member financial institutions and FHLB Des Moines had presented $13.3 million to 356 organizations across the state.
