In guidance published on August 6, 2026, the digital rewards provider explains how claim rates, funding charges and the treatment of unclaimed funds can change a program’s final expense. Its starting calculation multiplies the number of rewards by their face value: 500 rewards worth $25 each create a $12,500 maximum reward budget. Giftbit then adds funding fees and deducts any recoverable unclaimed value to estimate program cost. Its rewards calculator lets teams enter quantities, denominations and an assumed claim rate. The guide separates reward value from the cost of operating a program. It recommends checking setup charges, subscriptions, activation fees and API access costs, alongside the funding method. Giftbit notes that credit card funding can carry processing charges, while wire or ACH funding may have a different cost structure. Three illustrative scenarios show why claim assumptions matter. A survey campaign sending 1,000 rewards at $10 each has $10,000 of maximum exposure and $7,500 of claimed value at an assumed 75% claim rate. An employee program offering 100 rewards at $50 produces $4,900–$5,000 of claimed value at 98–100% claimed. A monthly referral program sending 200 rewards at $25 produces $4,250 of claimed value at an assumed 85% rate. These are budgeting examples in the guide. Giftbit also distinguishes rewards that remain available indefinitely from promotions with a claim-by date. It says that, for its promotional rewards with a fixed deadline, part of the unclaimed value can return to the customer’s balance for reuse. The guide advises buyers to establish who retains unused funds before selecting a provider. For finance reporting, the company recommends tracking issued and delivered rewards, claims, outstanding unclaimed value and any follow-up delivery attempts.
