Giftogram recommends making it specific to the employee's work and delivering it close to the contribution being recognized. Rewards, including gift cards, bonuses, merchandise, experiences and paid time off, provide a tangible response to an achievement or occasion. The article draws on a Gallup and Workhuman study that followed more than 3,400 employees from 2022 to 2024\. Employees receiving high-quality recognition were 45% less likely to have left by the end of that period. Giftogram cites that external research in support of its guidance; the figure is not a retention result measured for its own customers. Giftogram recommends planning for both scheduled milestones and unscheduled achievements. The company's practical emphasis is on execution: use HR events and approval workflows to prevent missed milestone rewards, while leaving managers responsible for noticing and explaining the work being recognized.
