[JR West](https://giftcard.news/company/jr-west/) is adding car-share vouchers to its WESTER points redemption options through a partnership with [JR West Rent-A-Car & Lease](https://giftcard.news/company/jr-west-rent-a-car-lease/) and [Times Mobility](https://giftcard.news/company/times-mobility/). The companies announced the service on September 17, with exchanges beginning October 1\. [\[S01\]](#article-source-1)

Members can exchange 500 to 5,000 points for electronic vouchers carrying the same value in yen. The vouchers apply to usage charges for Eki Rent-a-Car smart west, making that service the designated redemption destination. Points earned through rail travel or shopping can therefore offset a subsequent car-share bill.

One WESTER point exchanges for one yen of the specified voucher. Limits are not usage volume, actual redemption or unrestricted cash. No intermediate denomination schedule is inferred.

The change adds a redemption route to an existing relationship. The partners began their rail-and-car-share collaboration in 2013\. JR West Rent-A-Car & Lease introduced smart west in December 2023 using Times Mobility's platform, while a separate benefit introduced in April 2024 awards WESTER points for eligible same-day rail and car-share use.

For the loyalty program, the new electronic voucher connects an accumulated points balance to a specific transport service at a stated one-point-to-one-yen exchange value. The announcement does not set out voucher expiry or transferability rules.

The partners also issued a dated joint release [\[S02\]](#article-source-2) describing the same exchange route.
