The city-funded match has a January 31, 2027 spending deadline. Photo: City of La Quinta La Quinta has reopened its community gift-card programme for a second round of holiday spending support. In a November 1 announcement, the California city said customers could buy up to two cards each and receive a separate city-funded match of 50%, capped at $50 for each qualifying purchase. [\[S1\]](#article-source-1) ## The purchased balance and the city match have different deadlines The announced purchase options are $50 and $100\. The city expressly pairs a $50 purchase with a $25 match; its stated 50% rate and $50 cap yield a $50 match on the $100 option. These amounts describe programme terms, not an expenditure report or a forecast of sales. Source City of La Quinta original announcement La Quinta, California. Second round announced November 1, 2026\. Two purchased cards per person; city match up to 50% and $50 per card. The $25 example is explicit; $50 is calculated from the stated rate and cap on the $100 option. City match must be spent by January 31, 2027\. No programme outcome is measured. The city says the matching card must be used by January 31, 2027, while the purchased card can be used at any time. Its official flyer places the round between November 1 and January 31, subject to availability, and repeats the two-card limit. [\[S1\]](#article-source-1)[\[S2\]](#article-source-2) [Yiftee](https://giftcard.news/company/yiftee/) Inc. powers the programme, which directs redemption toward participating La Quinta businesses. The city’s stated aim is to generate business for local stores and restaurants during the holiday season. It does not disclose the amount allocated to matching funds, first-round redemption or the number of businesses accepting the new round. [\[S1\]](#article-source-1) The match increases the purchasing value available through the local network, but issued value alone would not show how much additional trade the programme creates. That requires redemption and spending evidence, neither of which is supplied in the announcement. The city directs buyers to its Shop Local page for purchases and participating businesses. Gift Card News could verify the complete announcement and official flyer, but the linked programme page returned an access error. The expiry distinction above therefore reflects the city’s published statement; no additional provider conditions are asserted. ## In this article ### Companies * [Yiftee](https://giftcard.news/company/yiftee/) ### Organizations * [City of La Quinta](https://giftcard.news/organization/city-of-la-quinta/) ### Sources and documents * [\[S1\] Original city announcement and programme terms](https://www.laquintaca.gov/Home/Components/News/News/5396/286?utm%5Fsource=giftcard.news&utm%5Fcampaign=giftcard.news) — City of La Quinta * [\[S2\] Official second-round programme flyer](https://www.laquintaca.gov/home/showpublishedimage/13285/639288870486130000?utm%5Fsource=giftcard.news&utm%5Fcampaign=giftcard.news) — City of La Quinta Share [ ](https://x.com/intent/post?url=https%3A%2F%2Fgiftcard.news%2Fgift-cards%2Fla-quinta-second-local-gift-card-match-holiday-2026%2F%3Futm%5Fsource%3Dx%26utm%5Fmedium%3Dsocial&text=La+Quinta+opens+a+second+local+gift-card+round+with+a+50%25+match&utm%5Fsource=giftcard.news&utm%5Fcampaign=giftcard.news "X") [ ](https://www.linkedin.com/sharing/share-offsite/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fgiftcard.news%2Fgift-cards%2Fla-quinta-second-local-gift-card-match-holiday-2026%2F%3Futm%5Fsource%3Dlinkedin%26utm%5Fmedium%3Dsocial&utm%5Fsource=giftcard.news&utm%5Fcampaign=giftcard.news "LinkedIn") [ ](https://wa.me/?text=La+Quinta+opens+a+second+local+gift-card+round+with+a+50%25+match+https%3A%2F%2Fgiftcard.news%2Fgift-cards%2Fla-quinta-second-local-gift-card-match-holiday-2026%2F%3Futm%5Fsource%3Dwhatsapp%26utm%5Fmedium%3Dsocial&utm%5Fsource=giftcard.news&utm%5Fcampaign=giftcard.news "WhatsApp") ![Portrait of Emma Carter](https://giftcard.news/images/variants/v1/emma-carter-editorial-portrait-w320.webp) About the author ## [Emma Carter](https://giftcard.news/author/emma-carter/) Journalist — Retail & E-commerce Emma Carter covers retail, e-commerce and the gift card shopping experience for Gift Card News.
