The figures appeared in an October update on the company’s international expansion. The total refers to available payout options, rather than the number of individual payments processed. Runa said the network supported payments to gig workers, affiliate commissions, rebates and cryptocurrency cash-outs, alongside its established rewards business. Singapore was among the markets added during the year. Runa reported 121 payout options there and named connections including [Grab](https://giftcard.news/company/grab/), [7-Eleven](https://giftcard.news/company/7-eleven/), [Best Denki](https://giftcard.news/company/best-denki/), [IKEA](https://giftcard.news/company/ikea/) and [Zalora](https://giftcard.news/company/zalora/). The company began as WeGift in 2016, using gift card and stored-value infrastructure. Its later strategy was to bring merchant connections, currency issuers, payment methods and processing providers together through a common software layer. Founder [Aron Alexander](https://giftcard.news/person/aron-alexander/) said the expansion reflected demand for more ways to use digital balances.
