The transaction would give giftee a larger presence in the Gulf’s digital gift card market. The Dubai-based company said the deal was subject to regulatory approvals and customary conditions, with completion expected by the end of that month. The announcement therefore described an agreed transaction awaiting completion. YOUGotaGift’s existing management team was expected to remain. The company said shares held by existing investors, including Middle East Venture Partners and HoneyBee Tech Ventures, would be bought out as part of the ownership change. giftee already operated in Japan and several Southeast Asian markets. Its chief executive, [Mutsumi Ota](https://giftcard.news/person/mutsumi-ota/), highlighted similarities between the companies’ consumer and corporate gifting businesses. YOUGotaGift described a network of more than 1,000 brands and 2,500 corporate clients at the time, including over 50 major loyalty programmes.
