[GoGift](https://giftcard.news/company/gogift/) and [CQM Rewards](https://giftcard.news/company/cqm-rewards/) announced a [Waterland Private Equity](https://giftcard.news/company/waterland-private-equity/)\-led combination on June 29, 2026, pairing a multinational gifting platform with a rewards business established in Southern Europe. The transaction remained subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions at announcement; financial terms were not disclosed. The strategic logic is more specific than acquiring a larger reward catalogue. GoGift wants a stronger regional presence, while CQM gains access to international technology and distribution. The proposed group must still turn those complementary assets into services customers can actually buy.

## GoGift’s client footprint and the proposed regional combination

The two Waterland announcements provide a useful measure of the platform CQM was due to join. The February 11, 2025 statement described GoGift as serving more than 15,000 B2B clients; the June 29, 2026 transaction statement reported more than 25,000 B2B customers. Both are lower-bound claims about GoGift, with no disclosed definition of an active client or reconciliation of customer entities. They do not provide a count of the combined group’s customers. Copenhagen-based GoGift was founded in 2003\. By the transaction announcement it said it served more than 25,000 B2B customers across over 100 countries, including through The Global Gift Card. CQM's own product offering spans gift cards, physical rewards, experiences and financial incentives. It also designs promotions, points programmes, redemption systems and reporting around a client's audience and budget. That makes it a campaign and service business as well as a source of prepaid products. Those capabilities matter because international coverage and local commercial relationships are different assets. A multinational platform can deliver a reward across borders; regional teams can help design a campaign around the brands, habits and procurement requirements of an individual market.

GoGift entered Waterland's portfolio in 2025 after a decade within [Nordisk Film](https://giftcard.news/company/nordisk-film/), part of [Egmont](https://giftcard.news/company/egmont/). At that point the investor and company explicitly identified acquisitions alongside organic international expansion as the growth strategy. The CQM transaction follows that declared course, rather than representing GoGift's first encounter with private-equity ownership. For Waterland, buying an established operator offers a route to regional customers and capabilities that might take longer to build from scratch. That is the investment logic suggested by the transaction structure; no disclosed purchase price, financing terms or forecast makes it possible to calculate the investor's expected return.

For GoGift, a local operation may make the international platform easier to sell to companies needing more than a generic global voucher. For CQM, access to a wider network can support clients with employees, partners or customers outside its established markets. These are potential routes to additional business, not revenue synergies already earned.

The companies also named Latin America among their expansion ambitions. That was a future direction, not a completed market launch. They did not publish a timetable for unifying customer systems or migrating programmes. A larger group can potentially spread technology and support costs across more business, but integration creates work of its own. Reward availability, currencies, contracts and customer-service responsibilities still have to line up. Combining two catalogues on a presentation does not automatically produce a single operating experience.

The substantive next milestones are therefore completion and usable cross-company services. The deal's importance lies in linking local campaign expertise with international reward distribution, while the commercial gains depend on how well that connection is implemented.
