The Atlanta-based provider described internships, university projects and mentoring as part of developing the state's payments workforce. Citing FinTech Atlanta, the article reported 245 fintech companies in Georgia employing 42,000 professionals. It said the state's 12 public fintech companies generated more than $49 billion in revenue and that early-stage fintech businesses received more than $2 billion in venture investment between 2020 and 2022. The overview also cited more than two thirds of US card transactions being processed by Georgia-based fintech businesses. These were industry figures presented in the article, distinct from InComm's own transaction volumes. InComm said it had nearly 2,500 employees globally after more than 30 years operating from Atlanta. Its EPIC Internship Program employed students from universities in the state in roles intended to provide practical experience. The company's Go Studio innovation hub worked with the University System of Georgia on student capstone projects and collaborated with institutions including Kennesaw State University. InComm also described work with the Georgia Fintech Academy on mentoring and networking. Trade association involvement spanned local technology organisations and national groups, including the Retail Gift Card Association, Innovative Payments Association and American Transaction Processors Coalition.
