# PayRewards and Points include gift cards in U.S. business rewards deal

The September 25 partnership includes gift-card redemption for U.S. business reward balances, alongside travel programmes and invoice credits.

[PayRewards](https://giftcard.news/company/payrewards/) has signed a U.S. partnership with [Points](https://giftcard.news/company/points/), a [Plusgrade](https://giftcard.news/company/plusgrade/) company, that includes gift cards among the ways small and mid-sized businesses can redeem rewards earned on supplier payments. Both companies announced the agreement on September 25\. [\[S01\]](#article-source-1)[\[S02\]](#article-source-2)

The arrangement connects an accounts-payable platform with a loyalty network. PayRewards lets businesses earn its points on vendor and supplier payments, including bank transfers and credit-card payments. The announced redemption range includes airline and hotel programmes, gift cards, employee incentives and credit toward other invoices. [\[S01\]](#article-source-1)

## A gift-card route from business expenses

PayRewards’ current gift-card page describes a catalogue of more than 100 brands. Members choose a card and exchange points for delivery by email or text, usually on the same day. The page presents cards as options for business purchases, staff recognition and client gifts. Those are the programme’s documented uses, rather than disclosed results of the new partnership. The agreement does not establish that every card in that catalogue is newly available through Points. Gift-card redemption already appears in PayRewards’ product material, and the companies do not identify newly added card brands, a gift-card launch schedule or the value expected to flow through the arrangement. Points works with more than 60 loyalty programmes worldwide, according to the announcement. Its role brings a broader set of redemption relationships to PayRewards’ business-payment audience. Neither release says that Points will issue the gift cards or serve as their exclusive fulfilment provider. [\[S01\]](#article-source-1)[\[S02\]](#article-source-2)

For gift-card operators, the relevant distribution opportunity is the conversion of business reward balances into spendable merchant value. That can put gift cards in competition with travel transfers and invoice credits inside the same redemption menu. The economic outcome will depend on which options members actually select; the companies have not disclosed gift-card transaction targets or commercial terms.

The rewards also have an earning cost. PayRewards says it has no monthly platform fee but charges businesses when they choose to earn its points. The current programme page separately lists payment and reward-earning fees, which means gross reward value should not be confused with a free benefit. The pricing page checked on October 18 lists a 1.75% Core fee to earn one point per USD1 and a 3.25% Plus fee to earn two points per USD1\. An ACH payment incurs the selected tier fee once. Card processing is separately listed at 2.9%, so these bars are not all-in card-payment costs or gift-card returns. The current tariff provides earning-cost context; it does not establish the price in force on the September announcement date.
