The company said it would handle currency conversion for businesses using the service. The local merchant examples included [Flipkart](https://giftcard.news/company/flipkart/), [Myntra](https://giftcard.news/company/myntra/) and [BigBasket](https://giftcard.news/company/bigbasket/). Runa also highlighted [Shoppers Stop](https://giftcard.news/company/shoppers-stop/), [PVR Cinema](https://giftcard.news/company/pvr-cinema/) and [Nykaa](https://giftcard.news/company/nykaa/), giving reward programmes options across fashion, groceries, cinema and beauty products. The provider positioned the expansion around businesses seeking to reach recipients in India through digital gift cards. The announcement described a catalogue of merchant rewards, rather than identifying every product as a bank-account transfer or presenting Runa as the issuer of the underlying retailers' cards. Runa framed the opportunity using an estimated $8.9 billion Indian gift card market and a cited growth projection of 15.3% a year over the following five years. These were market estimates and forecasts discussed in its 2025 announcement, not realised growth figures for that whole period. The company linked demand to ecommerce, corporate gifting and the adoption of mobile and digital payments. It also said approximately 60–70% of the market was moving towards digital gift cards, though the announcement did not supply detailed survey methodology for that estimate. Existing Runa customers were directed to their account manager to enable the India offering.
