The official receiver's certificate fixes the bankruptcy at September 15 and appoints [MNP](https://giftcard.news/company/mnp/) as licensed insolvency trustee. The proceeding is registered in Mississauga, Ontario, under estate number 32-3423815\. [\[S01\]](#article-source-1) ## Disputed funds, rather than a confirmed recovery MNP's September 30 preliminary report describes TCA's allegation that Oxford retained C$21 million in unspent prepaid-card funds belonging to TCA, alongside approximately C$4.6 million in alleged overpayments. Oxford's arbitration counterclaim is C$8,765,330\. The report does not establish either side's entitlement. [\[S02\]](#article-source-2) The programme began in 2023\. Oxford terminated the agreement in 2024, citing operating and audit defaults; TCA ceased operations around May 2025\. The bankruptcy is therefore a new insolvency proceeding, rather than a newly announced programme closure. The litigation estimate is not recovered cash. MNP is assessing the legal proceedings and seeking records. Its report relies on available books and management discussions that it has not audited, and it cannot yet project creditor distributions. The case puts the contractual treatment of unspent gift-card value at the centre of an estate's potential recovery. It does not establish a redemption guarantee or a compensation payment for cardholders.
