Chile’s [Universidad de La Frontera](https://giftcard.news/organization/universidad-de-la-frontera/) has advertised a CLP 130 million procurement for 2,000 staff gift cards, with conditions designed to prevent unused balances expiring. The September 17 notice covers Christmas gifts for employees affiliated with the university’s staff welfare service. [\[S01\]](#article-source-1)[\[S02\]](#article-source-2)

Each card must carry CLP 65,000\. The technical specifications require physical and digital formats, with the university to determine the mix later. Cards must remain valid at least through December 31, 2027, and the supplier must extend or renew validity when necessary without charging the institution. [\[S02\]](#article-source-2)

The terms also prohibit activation, maintenance, administration, balance-check and similar fees. On request, the provider must supply updated reports showing activation, use, remaining balance and the status of individual cards. Physical cards and packaging require university branding; digital presentation must have an equivalent institutional design. [\[S02\]](#article-source-2)

Acceptance reach is part of the competition. The evaluation assigns 20% to use at both supermarkets and commercial or department stores, and 10% to national coverage including Araucanía. Price carries 50%, with delivery, formal requirements and integrity programmes accounting for the remainder. [\[S01\]](#article-source-1)

The procurement is recorded as closed following the October 8 submission deadline. Its published timetable targets an award by October 30; no supplier award is established by the reviewed record. Those obligations extend the service beyond producing cards, while the actual retailer network and final format allocation depend on the eventual procurement outcome.
