Announced on September 17, the SDK collects card details inside the developer’s own interface, sends them to a vault and returns a token, according to the company. Crossmint says eligible cards can use [Visa](https://giftcard.news/company/visa/) Intelligent Commerce or [Mastercard](https://giftcard.news/company/mastercard/) Agent Pay to provide an agent with a limited-use payment credential. The proposed controls include an expiry and a spending limit set by the user. Availability needs careful reading. The vault is described as live, while the separate Agent Checkout product remains in pre-release. Crossmint says that product is intended to support purchases through browser automation, merchant APIs and agentic-commerce protocols. For gift-card operators, the distinction is between securing a payment credential and making an existing merchant balance spendable. The announcement does not establish support for checking a closed-loop gift-card balance or splitting an order between that balance and another payment method. The next practical question is which cards and checkout paths an integration actually supports.
