[Extole](https://giftcard.news/company/extole/) has published an overview of the APIs used to connect referral, loyalty and incentive programs to websites, applications and business systems. The August 13, 2026 guide describes programmatic control of participant data, offer events and rewards, including gift cards, account credits and points.

The company separates its interface into three REST APIs. The server integration supports backend operations such as bulk data handling, participant and reward management, and event submission. The consumer integration serves websites and native apps, including participant access and on-device presentation. The management API handles platform configuration, including many operations also available in the My Extole interface.

Programs are organized around events and the rules that act on them. Sharing a referral link, following it, signing up or completing a purchase can supply the information needed to determine whether a participant qualifies. Extole describes using those events to connect a qualifying action with a notification or reward.

The guide also covers audience segmentation and attribution. A business can tailor an offer to a customer group, track which participant referred a new customer and pull performance information into its own reporting tools. The metrics discussed include shares, clicks, conversions and reward costs.

Extole publishes specific operating limits in the article: 100 requests per minute for each IP address or token, and 10 requests per second for an identified person. For high-volume event submission, it describes an asynchronous events endpoint without those rate limits. Those figures are distinct from the generic examples used elsewhere in its discussion of API throttling.

Integration patterns include embedding referral features in web or mobile experiences, sending advocacy data to CRM or customer-data platforms, and capturing qualifying activity at checkout. Webhooks can report events to external systems without requiring repeated polling for updates.

For rewards, the guide describes eligibility evaluation, delivery through a configured method and records connecting decisions to the resulting reward. It also highlights fraud controls intended to detect problems such as repeated participation, unusual activity patterns and attempts to exploit referral rules.

Extole says developers can use direct REST calls or its SDKs, with additional command-line tools and documentation intended for both developers and AI-assisted workflows. The article presents those as ways to connect the company's existing offer infrastructure to a customer's own systems and interface.
