Announced in November 2020, the system is designed to accommodate cash users as sports and entertainment venues move toward card payments. Guests exchange cash at the stadium’s guest services office and use the loaded card to pay for concessions, merchandise and other purchases. The card has no purchase fee and can feature the team’s branding. Because the product is open loop, remaining funds are not confined to the stadium. Cardholders can spend the balance elsewhere in the United States wherever the relevant payment network is accepted, or retain it for another visit. Jaguars facility-operations management said the aim was to give visitors an uncomplicated way to buy food and merchandise. InComm said the service was already operating at TIAA Bank Field and that it planned to introduce the model at additional venues. The launch addresses a practical issue for operators reopening to spectators: a cashless venue still needs a way to serve people who arrive with banknotes.
