The announcement names [Ant International](https://giftcard.news/company/ant-international/)’s Alipay+ ecosystem, including [AlipayHK](https://giftcard.news/company/alipayhk/), [Clip](https://giftcard.news/company/clip/), [GCash](https://giftcard.news/company/gcash/), [KakaoPay](https://giftcard.news/company/kakaopay/), [TNG Digital](https://giftcard.news/company/tng-digital/)’s TNG eWallet and [TrueMoney](https://giftcard.news/company/truemoney/), alongside [AXIAN](https://giftcard.news/company/axian/), [CRED](https://giftcard.news/company/cred/), [DaviPlata](https://giftcard.news/company/daviplata/), [Mercado Pago](https://giftcard.news/company/mercado-pago/), [MTN](https://giftcard.news/company/mtn/) and [TenPay Global](https://giftcard.news/company/tenpay-global/). These relationships cover different markets and payment experiences; the announcement does not establish that every participant offers every component. The underlying product catalogue helps explain what sits behind the umbrella name. Account tokenization turns a wallet account into a payment credential for contactless and online spending. Mastercard Pay Local connects cards to local wallets, while Wallet Express provides pass-through payment capabilities and tap-to-pay. Mastercard also lists its Digital Enablement Service, which replaces card or account numbers with tokens, and Wallet Services for providers adding contactless and ecommerce payments. Mastercard Move for Wallets addresses transfers between cards, wallets and accounts. Acceptance services cover the merchant side of those payments. These are different jobs. Paying from a wallet balance, funding a local wallet with a card and moving money between accounts do not follow an identical transaction path. Treating them as separate components makes the launch easier to assess than assuming Wallet Pay is a single new consumer app. For prepaid and stored-value providers, the relevant development is the ability to connect balances and card credentials to broader acceptance infrastructure. It does not establish that a retailer’s closed-loop gift card can automatically be spent at unrelated merchants.
