The agreement gives Playport access to participating locations in a VanillaDirect network approaching 60,000 stores. The service connects a player’s smartphone with a retailer’s point of sale for purchasing and redeeming games. Playport said its Games2Go platform allows the game reveal to take place on the phone, rather than requiring the entire play experience to remain at the store.
