The June 2024 update focuses on giving the recipient control over redemption rather than assigning one merchant in advance. After opening the link, the recipient can browse the available options. Runa says the balance can be used together or divided across several merchants, giving the recipient flexibility in allocating the reward. Runa reported a 98.3% redemption rate within 30 days for the product, without setting out the underlying observation period or sample in the short update. It also cited consumer preference figures: 92% had a preferred gift card type, 67% favoured a multi-merchant card and 72% wanted more control over reward redemption. The product description connects those preferences with the way a reward is distributed.
