Although an employee might redeem a benefit through a single website, the agency could still be managing separate arrangements with each supplier. Updating product images and terms added another layer of administration alongside ordering and invoicing. The proposed centralized model used a gift card provider as the agency’s operational point of contact. Ordering, invoicing and fulfilment would run through the same platform, with offer changes handled by the technology rather than repeated manual updates across supplier relationships. The guidance also addressed a reason agencies might hesitate to consolidate: existing exclusive deals or preferred terms with particular retailers. It described feeding those arrangements into the platform so that centralization did not necessarily require abandoning the agency’s negotiated offer. Time-limited promotions needed similar coordination around retailer launch dates and platform capabilities.
