The September 28 announcement, written by Sendoso strategy and programs manager [Max Child](https://giftcard.news/person/max-child/), describes the connection as a governed installation in Unity Catalog. It extends the distribution of Sendoso's existing Model Context Protocol tools, rather than announcing the original launch of those tools. Sendoso's broader eGift offering includes merchant cards, making that catalog control relevant to the value a team is allowed to send. The company says this can happen within the Databricks conversation instead of through a separately exported list. Operations and commercial-technology teams configure the available tools and approval requirements. Sendoso says Unity AI Gateway limits which tools an agent can invoke, applies approval policies to higher-risk sends and records calls for an audit trail. The release illustrates a lead-scoring workflow in which a lightweight eGift is chosen from an approved catalog below a marketer-defined dollar threshold. Proposed sends above that threshold go to a person for approval. This is the provider's description of configurable behavior, not evidence that a particular customer has deployed that example. The launch points to Samsara to illustrate the data-to-action opportunity. In the original 2026 conference deck, Samsara senior AI engineer Vipul Panwar reports a meeting-booking rate of 0.18% before its research system and 6.49% afterwards. The deck describes a production system used by more than 600 representatives. It supplies actual customer observations about the research stage, while leaving the additional effect of a gift unmeasured. The later Databricks presentation concerns research and personalised outreach. Neither source demonstrates that joining these activities through the new connection reproduces either reported result. The announcement does not supply adoption figures or measured results for the new Databricks connection. Older campaign statistics in its marketing material do not establish performance of this integration. The commercial change is a further distribution point for gifting tools, with catalog selection and approval controls attached to the proposed spend.
