It also creates an operational need to explain eligibility and repayment terms clearly at the point of purchase. The release did not establish that gift cards themselves qualified for instalment financing. A retailer selling gifts and a retailer permitting finance on stored-value products are different propositions. Gift-card operators should not infer the latter from this announcement.
