Patent US12,731,169 B2 covers a system titled “System and method for automatically generating a customized incentive interface.” The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office's grant notice names the bank as both filer and assignee. [\[S01\]](#article-source-1) [\[S02\]](#article-source-2) The new event is the grant. The application was filed on February 4, 2022, and published on August 10, 2023\. The September record therefore does not establish that TD has just developed or launched a new gift-card service. ## Combining recipient selection with the gift interface The Gazette reproduces claim 12, which describes a server receiving a request to send incentives, together with parameters defining them. A data-mining module identifies a recipient segment and a digital format likely to be accepted by that segment. The method then retrieves both a gift-card visual template and a white-label incentive interface. It fills elements of the card and interface according to the request, using metadata tags to identify fields in the interface. The resulting screen includes the digital gift card and a selectable control through which the recipient can accept the incentive. Finally, the system sends the incentives to electronic addresses associated with the selected segment. [\[S01\]](#article-source-1) The combination brings audience selection, presentation and acceptance into the same described process. For incentive operators, those are distinct steps in turning an offer into a gift that a recipient can receive and accept. The notice's reference to a white-label interface also makes the presentation layer part of the method, rather than describing only the storage of a monetary balance. ## An intellectual-property milestone The Gazette lists 20 claims and names [Michael Pronski](https://giftcard.news/person/michael-pronski/), [Amanda Vanzante](https://giftcard.news/person/amanda-vanzante/) and [Darius Braziunas](https://giftcard.news/person/darius-braziunas/) as inventors. Its published excerpt does not set out all 20 claims. [\[S01\]](#article-source-1) TD is a Canadian banking group whose official corporate material identifies TD Invent as its enterprise approach to innovation. That provides institutional context, but the patent notice does not identify a customer rollout, merchant network, licensing deal or transaction volume for this particular method. [\[S03\]](#article-source-3) The grant is relevant to digital-gifting infrastructure because its reproduced claim expressly links gift-card generation to recipient targeting and acceptance.
