[Toggle](https://giftcard.news/company/toggle/) has connected its hospitality gift cards to [storekit](https://giftcard.news/company/storekit/) checkout, extending where guests can spend prepaid balances without requiring venues to replace their existing gift-card programme. Its August 13 announcement describes a redemption integration for businesses using both platforms. The more consequential operational detail is what happens when an order changes: a refunded gift-card payment can be returned to the card automatically. The connection links two different stages of a restaurant transaction. Toggle supplies the gift-card balance; storekit brings that balance into the ordering and payment journey. A guest can use only part of a card's value and cover the rest of the bill using another payment method. Value that is not spent remains available on the gift card. ## Plan eligibility, redemption and operational limits

Toggle, founded in 2018 and based in Sheffield, provides hospitality businesses with online shops and tools for selling gift cards and experiences. Its commercial role begins before the visit, when a purchaser buys value for someone to redeem later. The programme then needs to work with the systems a venue actually uses to serve that customer. Storekit supplies online and QR ordering systems for restaurants. Its own partner page confirms the Toggle connection. Linking the two therefore adds a redemption route to an existing gift-card product, rather than introducing a new card or requiring the operator to run a second balance. The business logic follows from that division of work. Toggle makes its programme usable inside another ordering platform; storekit accommodates a payment instrument its restaurant customers already sell. For a venue, the potential gain is fewer exceptions at checkout when a guest wants to spend a gift. That is an analysis of the documented integration, not evidence of increased sales, lower staffing costs or a disclosed revenue-sharing agreement.

The current Storekit pricing table provides a concrete eligibility and cost comparison. With Pay monthly selected on October 19, Grow is GBP 99 per location per month and Pro GBP 199, excluding VAT. Both include gift-card and voucher redemption, with Toggle explicitly named. Grow covers online ordering, while Pro also includes in-venue ordering and payments. The base subscription is not the total cost of enabling this route. Storekit adds a flat per-order rate, lists Pro setup from GBP 199 per location and prices optional products separately. Enterprise is advertised from GBP 995 per brand per month, so it is not directly comparable with the two per-location prices. The table does not establish separate Toggle charges or a supplier revenue-sharing arrangement. Storekit’s operational documentation supports redemption during ordering and online bill payment. A full reversal restores the redeemed amount, but partial refunds of a gift-card redemption are unsupported; purchasing a new gift card and topping up are also listed as unsupported. Its commercial integration page nevertheless says customers can top up and describes gift cards as tender. Toggle’s own guide says tender and discount options are not currently supported. These published descriptions conflict, so the operational limits should not be treated as a confirmed top-up or tender capability. Those limits matter operationally. Accepting a balance is one task; handling cancellations and corrections is another. Operators should not assume that every refund scenario follows automatically from the fact that gift cards are accepted at checkout.

The documentation also says only one gift-card provider can be active per venue. For an operator already using another provider through storekit, enabling Toggle is therefore a configuration choice, not simply an additional payment button. Toggle's own help article, dated July 22, describes account credentials and matching site references between the systems. That earlier documentation shows that the August announcement should not be read as proof that development began, or that the first redemption occurred, on August 13\. The announcement is the dated news event; the exact first operational use is not established by these materials. Activation remains specific to the operator and its venues. Storekit says the connection is available on eligible plans and must be enabled for each location. The announcement does not identify how many venues have switched it on or disclose commercial terms between the suppliers. For the gift-card industry, the concrete change is greater access to a hospitality checkout, with documented handling of balances and full reversals. Whether that produces additional spending will depend on adoption and customer behaviour; the product connection alone does not demonstrate that outcome.
