# XAUE launches gold gift card with optional yield conversion

XAUE launched a corporate gift card built around Tether Gold, with optional conversion to a yield product. Estimated returns and physical redemption plans remain company claims.

[XAUE](https://giftcard.news/company/xaue/) launched a gold gift card on June 9, offering corporate buyers a way to give tokenized gold and recipients an option to convert it into a yield-generating asset. The announcement connects corporate gifting with a financial product, making the choice of underlying asset and the route to redemption central to how the card works. [\[S1\]](#article-source-1)

The company says businesses can select [Tether](https://giftcard.news/company/tether/) Gold, known as XAU₮, or allow conversion into XAUE, also called XAU-Earn. The release puts the latter's estimated annual percentage rate at 1.5% to 3%, subject to market conditions. ## The gift and the yield are separate choices

XAUE describes the offering as backed one-for-one by physical gold value, with customised themes, denominations and physical or virtual card formats. The announcement supplies the company's backing assertion; it does not itself provide an independent reserve reconciliation for the gift-card programme. [\[S1\]](#article-source-1)

The distinction between holding gold exposure and converting into a yield product is commercially important. A gift's value can depend on an underlying asset, while additional returns require another mechanism. A corporate purchaser evaluating the card therefore needs to understand which product the recipient receives and whether any conversion is optional.

XAUE's protocol FAQ describes returns as arising from strategies including quantitative arbitrage and lending against collateral. It also describes a fractional model in which one XAU₮ corresponds to 1,000 XAUE units. Those explanations concern the company's broader protocol; they do not demonstrate that the estimated return has been achieved for cardholders. [\[S2\]](#article-source-2)

The FAQ reviewed for this report uses an APY presentation, while the June 9 launch release specifies APR. This article retains the launch's terminology rather than treating the two measures as interchangeable. Neither figure should be read as a guaranteed payment.

## A corporate demonstration preceded the launch

XAUE identifies [DL Holdings Group](https://giftcard.news/company/dl-holdings-group/) as an early corporate customer. It says DL Holdings presented cards to nearly 400 guests at a June 5 event and demonstrated a process from customisation and payment delivery to user redemption. This is a company-reported demonstration, not independent evidence that every guest completed a redemption. [\[S1\]](#article-source-1)

Physical gold delivery is a separate issue. At launch, XAUE said services in Hong Kong and Singapore were expected in July 2026\. The June announcement establishes that plan; it does not confirm that physical redemption was operating when the cards were introduced. [\[S1\]](#article-source-1)

## Cardholder terms remain distinct from protocol access

The current protocol FAQ restricts direct primary-market minting and redemption to approved institutional participants that have passed identity and compliance checks. It describes secondary-market trading as the route available to everyday users. These are protocol access rules, rather than a complete explanation of the gift-card recipient journey. The launch release does not reconcile those rules with its proposed physical redemption service or set out a full schedule of fees, minimums and delivery conditions. For corporate gifting, that leaves a difference between the confirmed availability of a branded product and the detail needed to assess how a recipient ultimately uses its value.

The launch expands XAUE's distribution into business gifts and rewards. Its estimated yield, reserve backing and physical redemption plans remain attributed to the company, with each representing a separate claim from the existence of the gift card itself.
