Photo: Yiftee [Yiftee](https://giftcard.news/company/yiftee/)'s Community Cards gained mobile-wallet checkout through an integration with [Mastercard](https://giftcard.news/company/mastercard/) In Control for Mobile Payments, described by Mastercard on July 28, 2025 and by Yiftee on August 5\. The development made a locally restricted gift card usable through a familiar contactless payment experience. [\[S01\]](#article-source-1)[\[S02\]](#article-source-2) That distinction is central to the model. The payment network provides the route to the terminal; the community programme determines which participating merchants can accept the value. The mobile-wallet integration introduced tap-and-go checkout without a separate point-of-sale integration. Yiftee said the platform covered more than 750 towns and cities and 20,000 local businesses in its August 2025 account. These are the company's figures from that period, not current totals. [\[S01\]](#article-source-1)[\[S02\]](#article-source-2) ## What local funding can look like Mastercard illustrated the model through the Shop Knox County programme in Indiana, launched in December 2022\. Its holiday promotion offered a matching gift card on purchases of up to $100, with the bonus funded by the chamber, city and local economic-development organisations. At the time of the report, 81 merchants participated. [\[S02\]](#article-source-2) The [Knox County Chamber of Commerce](https://giftcard.news/organization/knox-county-chamber-of-commerce/) reported more than $500,000 flowing through the local initiative. That account should not be read as a controlled estimate of additional economic activity: spending through a programme and spending that would not otherwise have happened are different measures. [\[S02\]](#article-source-2) ## Convenience is the specific development For programme operators, easier checkout addresses a practical weakness of digital vouchers: the customer may have value available but still need help presenting it at the till. The integration reduces that gap while retaining a defined merchant network. Yiftee described security, scale and local spending as benefits of the collaboration. Neither company supplied a measured reduction in fraud or a controlled sales-lift result for the wallet integration. The supported change is the payment experience; broader economic and security outcomes require separate evidence.
