Employees received a branded email with a message in three languages, personalised fields and a link to the rewards store. Accolad said the catalogue offered more than 100 gift cards, including local, Canadian and US brands. That creates two separate roles for the coffee business: an employer buying recognition services and a merchant whose card can be selected by recipients in other clients’ programmes. Use of a recognition platform is evidence of an operating relationship. Inclusion in a catalogue is evidence of distribution. Neither, on its own, establishes how many people selected a particular merchant or how much incremental spending followed. ## What the case establishes The source describes the programme’s design and the organisations involved, but supplies no independent retention study, before-and-after employee survey or quantified saving in administration time. Its contribution is a concrete example of connecting a service calendar with a flexible reward, rather than proof of a wider performance effect. The programme also needs a straightforward route for employees who do not receive the message or encounter a problem redeeming their chosen card.
