The service covered the websites surrounding reward-card programs, incentive travel, meetings and conferences. [\[S01\]](#article-source-1) Those sites handled practical tasks: checking a reward-card balance, tracking progress toward an incentive, finding program information and registering for travel through JNR's RegPort service. The redesign was intended to keep the experience consistent as participants moved between devices. ## Putting program information within reach JNR described a workforce increasingly divided between offices, field locations and home. Its response was a page layout that adjusted to the device and browser resolution, making the same program accessible in different working environments. The announcement placed responsive design within a wider web service offering. Alongside balance tracking and registration, JNR listed electronic communications, standings reports, award management, event maps and hotel information. That scope made the website an operational part of the reward. A card balance tells a participant what can be spent; a standings report explains progress; a registration form converts eligibility into a travel booking. Each interaction connects the incentive promise with something the participant can actually do. ## Connecting reward delivery with communication For an employer running a distributed program, the communication channel and the reward need to work together. A participant receiving an update away from a desk should be able to follow it through to the relevant information. An adaptable page layout addresses that continuity without requiring a different set of instructions for each device. JNR's release described a business spanning prepaid rewards and gift cards, incentive travel, recognition, meetings and events. The new web service sat across those activities, supporting the information and administration around different forms of incentive. The development illustrates a specific change in incentive delivery in 2013: the participant website was becoming a service used wherever the participant happened to be.
