# Tillo and Quidco report 6,600 users reactivated by gift card cashback

A supermarket gift card cashback programme run by [Tillo](https://giftcard.news/company/tillo/) and [Quidco](https://giftcard.news/company/quidco/) brought 6,600 inactive users back to the platform and contributed to an 80% increase in transactions, according to results published by the [Gift Card and Voucher Association](https://giftcard.news/organization/gift-card-and-voucher-association/) on September 28\. The figures add operating detail to a partnership whose award win was announced earlier in the month. [\[S01\]](#article-source-1)

The GCVA said the partners’ award entry classified 96.8% of supermarket gift card purchases as new spending, rather than transactions diverted from existing cashback claims. Tillo repeated the figures in its own September 30 announcement. Neither account supplies the measurement period, transaction baseline or method used to identify incremental purchases. ## A reward attached to buying the card

The product gives Quidco a transaction to reward before a shopper reaches the supermarket checkout. A customer buys a retailer’s digital gift card through Quidco, receives its face value and earns a separate cashback amount. Quidco says purchases are normally tracked within an hour and cashback becomes available to withdraw within seven days. Retailers set redemption conditions and expiry rules. Quidco’s supermarket page lists brands including Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s, M&S, Iceland and Farmfoods. This puts the proposition into recurring household spending, where a shopper can buy a card for their own groceries.
