The St. Louis concrete contractor had been using gift cards but found their distribution and accounting cumbersome. The case study identifies buying and distributing cards, replacing lost cards, unused balances and limited accounting options as the main operational problems. It does not disclose the number of employees in the program, its budget or a measured training completion rate. [Whistle](https://giftcard.news/company/whistle/) says its system allowed Vee-Jay to send reward payments electronically, provide a physical option or combine both formats, with automated tracking and reporting. An unnamed HR leader at Vee-Jay said the change removed trips to buy cards and simplified the reward process. The reported outcome is easier administration and less time spent handling rewards. Whistle also says team members preferred the approach. These are the supplier’s reported results; the case study does not quantify cost savings or demonstrate a measured productivity increase. The broader construction use cases described by Whistle include safety and compliance reporting, daily progress records, employee referrals, new-hire stipends and ad hoc recognition.
