Cue's receivers have stopped issuing new gift cards and placed a matching-spend condition on redemption of existing gift cards and store credit. The terms appear in the official customer circular dated September 15, when receivers and voluntary administrators were appointed.
Matching spending is required before an existing balance can be used
The circular's example requires a customer using AUD50 of gift-card value to contribute at least another AUD50, producing an order of AUD100. Existing balances are therefore conditionally usable; the document does not say that every balance has been cancelled or promise a full cash refund.
The receivers’ AUD100 purchase example
The customer circular uses an AUD50 gift-card redemption with at least AUD50 of additional spending.

FTI Consulting's Vaughan Strawbridge and Kate Warwick were appointed receivers. The circular says the businesses continue trading while their position is assessed. It does not announce that all stores have closed.
Cue Club rewards are suspended within the same customer notice. Previously accrued rewards may also be used with at least equal additional spending, subject to the terms stated by the receivers.
The notice identifies unused gift cards and credit notes among possible customer claims handled by the administrators. The eventual recovery or payment of those claims is not guaranteed by the reviewed document.
The same FAQ separates the receivers’ trading decisions from the administrators’ handling of pre-appointment claims. New orders require payment assurance, while unfulfilled earlier orders may give rise to unsecured claims. The matching-spend permission does not establish what creditors will recover or when balances will be used.
These are the terms in the September 15 circular and attached FAQ. No completed gift-card redemption total, current creditor distribution or later amendment is established by that document.
