The Gift Card & Voucher Association and BrancheVereniging Cadeaukaarten Nederland announced a European Financial Integrity Summit in Amsterdam for May 15, 2025. Their January 17 notice invited the industry to discuss fraud and security challenges affecting gift cards. [S01]
A forum shared by two associations
The announcement set out a one-day event and offered member pricing for both associations. An early booking window ran to February 14, 2025. It framed the summit as a way for the sector to work together on financial integrity rather than treating emerging risks as isolated company problems. [S01]

Why coordination matters
A gift-card programme connects several participants: the seller, issuer, distributor and business accepting redemption may be different organisations. A common forum gives those participants a place to compare the risks each sees and the information needed to investigate a problem. That is the operational rationale for bringing the sector together.
The notice was an event announcement. It did not report a completed investigation, quantify losses avoided or establish a new legal obligation. Any conclusions reached at the summit would need to be supported by later proceedings or statements.
The January source also referred to a working agenda. That should be read as a planned programme, not proof that every proposed session subsequently took place. The confirmed news at this stage was the collaboration between the associations and the scheduled event. [S01]
