Kevin Stevens, a former chief financial officer at A.E. Rosen Electrical Co., was sentenced on September 9 to four to twelve years in prison in a theft case involving gift-card purchases, Daily Voice reported, citing the Albany County District Attorney's Office.

The September 11 report says Stevens used company fuel and fleet cards to buy gift cards and traded them for drugs. It also describes other diversions, including checks drawn from company accounts, and falsified financial records used to conceal the scheme.

Prosecutors put the overall theft at USD4,206,269 between January 2017 and January 2025. That figure covers the mixed embezzlement scheme; the report does not isolate a gift-card-only loss.

Stevens pleaded guilty in June to first-degree grand larceny and first-degree identity theft, and must make full restitution to the company, according to the report.

The new development is the completed September sentencing. The earlier theft and plea provide context for a case in which gift cards served as one route for diverting employer funds.
