Runa has introduced Assure, a collection of security measures for businesses distributing gift cards, prepaid funds and payments sent directly to cards. The company said the controls are included in its service, with no separate activation or additional charge for customers or recipients.

In its February 2025 announcement, Runa said Assure was already being used across payouts to more than two million individual recipients each month. The system is intended to monitor funds throughout the process, beginning when a business adds money and continuing through delivery to the recipient.

Runa listed account restrictions, multifactor authentication and behavioural monitoring among its fraud controls. Other components include encryption, protection against denial-of-service attacks, web application firewalls and incident response involving human reviewers.

Customers can also configure permissions and order limits. Runa said the package supports its security and compliance work across the markets it serves.

Chief executive Aron Alexander described the product as a response to fraud risks specific to payouts, rather than payment acceptance. The company expects automated monitoring to reduce investigation work for finance and operations teams; that is its stated product objective.
