Japanese company Asua has doubled its planned annual shareholder reward pool from ¥20 million to ¥40 million, increasing the budget for an existing program distributed through Digital Gift. The board approved the change on September 14 for the financial year ending in June 2027. [S01]

Forecast allocations, not completed purchases or actual distributions. The per-shareholder award depends on the eligible population; a doubled pool does not guarantee a doubled individual payment.

The larger pool does not introduce a new redemption platform or change eligibility. Asua's program covers holders of at least 200 shares for six months, with eligibility measured at the end of June and December. The available value is divided among eligible shareholders, rather than assigning every recipient a fixed sum. Consequently, a doubled company budget does not by itself establish that each person's gift will double. [S02]
Asua identifies Amazon gift cards, Google Play gift codes, QUO Card Pay, au PAY gift cards and several electronic-money or points routes among the redemption choices. The structure separates the company's decision on how much to distribute from the recipient's decision on which supported reward to select.
The increase corrects what Asua described as an inconsistency between an earlier performance-linked shareholder return policy and the unchanged reward budget it announced in August. The company said it would prioritise benefits for the time being while continuing to consider how cash dividends fit its wider return policy.
The extra ¥20 million in benefit costs also prompted equivalent reductions to its operating, ordinary and net profit forecasts. Asua left its sales forecast unchanged and attributed the revision to the reward expense, rather than a change in its business plan. That disclosure shows the budget consequence of the larger gift allocation without establishing any corresponding improvement in shareholder retention or engagement.
The program page says notices are generally sent within three months of each eligibility date. The final amount awarded to an individual recipient will depend on the eligible population at the relevant register date; the September announcement changes the annual pool, not that allocation method.
