Buyatab announced on July 11, 2018 that founder Matias Marquez would speak at the Incentive Marketing Association Summit in Newport Beach, California. The conference was scheduled for July 23–25.

The panel would examine growth across digital gift cards, physical cards and merchandise-based incentives. Other announced speakers were Hinda Incentives president Michael Donnelly and National Gift Card executive Rick Rubin.

The planned discussion covered how the businesses defined success, measured growth and developed their positions in the incentive market. The July 11 release described a forthcoming session, not conclusions reached after the event.

Buyatab's perspective came from its merchant gift card ecommerce operation, which supported online purchases and delivery by email or text. The company described clients in the United States, Canada and Europe and compatibility with Apple Wallet and Google Pay within its wider technology.
