CaringBridge has added gift cards to the Ways to Help section of its pages through a partnership with InComm Payments. The service lets friends and relatives send practical financial support to family caregivers alongside the messages and updates already shared on the nonprofit’s health platform.
The assortment includes meal-delivery services, transportation, restaurants and retail brands. It also includes Visa gift cards and InComm’s Zift multi-brand products, giving purchasers a choice between a particular service and a broader set of spending options.
Buyers can choose physical cards delivered to a mailing address or digital cards sent by email. CaringBridge said the service also allows a personal message, so a purchase can combine help with expenses and words of encouragement.
An April 2024 CaringBridge survey found that more than 60% of caregivers considered caregiving stressful and more than 30% reported substantial financial pressure. Chief executive Tia Newcomer said unexpected health events often bring new costs for families and that the gift card service was intended to make practical community support easier.
InComm said CaringBridge was receiving more than 320,000 daily visitors at the time of the announcement. The partnership applies its gift card catalog and fulfillment capabilities to that existing support network, creating another distribution channel focused on caregivers’ day-to-day needs.
