CoreCard Software has announced completion of RuPay Prepaid Card certification under the National Payments Corporation of India’s Partner Program. In its March 31, 2025 announcement, the company said the certification supports its prepaid card processing offering in India.

CoreCard said it can provide end-to-end RuPay prepaid processing to banks, fintech companies and programme managers. It described the certification as covering support for the full lifecycle of RuPay prepaid cards.

The company identified gifting, prepaid wallets, salary cards, travel cards and government benefit disbursement as potential applications for the processing service. Those use cases place the technology behind several types of prepaid programme.

RuPay is the card scheme developed by NPCI. CoreCard’s announcement concerns its certification as a processor in that network and forms part of the company’s expansion of payment technology services for the Indian market.
