Diggecard explained the role of processing within gift card programmes in guidance published on July 24, 2024. It described issuance, activation, balance tracking and redemption as functions that support both consumer and business distribution.

The company also discussed transaction reporting and controls around gift card use. Its account distinguished these processing tasks from services such as marketing, personalisation, fulfilment and business-to-business sales.

Diggecard said clients could retain an existing processor while using its other gift card services. As an example, it described managing global B2B gift card sales for LEGO Retail while connecting with SVS for processing.

For businesses establishing a programme from the start, Diggecard said it could also supply its own processing alongside online and in-store sales, delivery and reporting. It presented modular services and a broader managed programme as different configurations for clients.

The guide described those operating arrangements rather than announcing a new processor or LEGO partnership. It did not publish a fee comparison or measured implementation times for the different configurations.
