NaijaMart has introduced emailed digital gift cards for its South African online store, allowing recipients to select Nigerian groceries and other products with a rand-denominated balance. The earliest verified public product record is dated September 13; a September 20 company article subsequently described the service.

The retailer lists six values: ZAR250, ZAR500, ZAR750, ZAR1,000, ZAR1,500 and ZAR2,000. Delivery uses the recipient's email address, with a code for redemption at NaijaMart's own online checkout.

Recipients can spend part of a balance and retain the remainder for another eligible purchase, or pay the excess with an available payment method. The current product terms, checked on October 18, limit redemption to NaijaMart.co.za, prohibit cash redemption and say the cards do not expire unless expressly stated otherwise. A valid code is transferable to its bearer, so the retailer tells users to keep it secure. These terms do not establish acceptance at other merchants.

The distribution model lets the buyer transfer purchasing choice while keeping the resulting spend within the retailer's product range. The company presents the feature as a new digital gifting service but does not disclose uptake or transaction volumes.

The preserved September 13 date identifies the public product listing, without claiming that the first sale or redemption occurred that day.
