Prepay Nation has appointed Seema Rai Nair as vice president of business development, putting an executive with a remittance-network background in charge of developing partnerships and commercial opportunities across its international markets. The company announced the appointment on September 24, 2026. [S01]
The role sits at the distribution side of the prepaid business. Prepay Nation supplies e-gift cards alongside mobile airtime, data and utility-payment products through a marketplace that businesses can connect to with a single API. The company describes its reach as more than 150 countries; that footprint covers the wider prepaid portfolio and should not be read as identical gift-card availability in every market. [S02]
A commercial role across prepaid categories
Prepay Nation's customer channels include ecommerce platforms, payment applications and loyalty programmes. Its published industry description presents gift cards both as products that applications can sell and as redemption choices for loyalty members or employee rewards. These are distinct routes to the recipient, bringing distribution relationships directly into the economics of a prepaid marketplace. [S03]
For gift-card programme operators, the relevance of the appointment is therefore the commercial network behind those routes. A broader set of platform partners could create additional outlets for existing prepaid products. That is the potential implication of the remit, not an announced expansion of the gift-card catalogue or a forecast of transaction growth.
Experience in sales and network expansion
According to Prepay Nation's announcement, Nair most recently held the senior vice president of global sales role at Remittances Hub Enterprises Canada Limited. Her earlier roles included customer success and network expansion at Buckzy Payments, as well as regional commercial leadership at Xpress Money Services. The company credits her with more than 25 years of experience across money transfer and hospitality. [S01]
Chief executive Anurag Jain linked the hire to the company's plans to grow its partner network. The announcement gives Nair an international business-development mandate, but names no new customer agreement, gift-card brand or market opening resulting from the appointment. [S01]
The immediate change is a senior commercial appointment at a distributor whose range includes digital gift cards. Any subsequent agreement will need its own evidence of participating brands, geographic availability and delivery terms before it can be assessed as a change to a live gift-card programme.
