Kirchheim unter Teck has moved from two local voucher schemes to TeckCARD, a shared gift-card, benefits and employee-reward system available in physical form and through an app. Technology operator Simpli Citycard confirmed the October 1 launch in an October 8 announcement, saying nearly 50 businesses were accepting the card at the start. [S01]

The system replaces the City-Ring voucher and Kirchheim Gutschein, known as KiGu. Its operator aims to reach 100 partner businesses in the coming months; that figure is a target, rather than the current acceptance network. The rollout was developed with the City-Ring Gemeinschaft Kirchheimer Handel. [S01]

Gift purchases have different processing charges

Customers can load between EUR 1 and EUR 250 as gift credit and redeem all or part of the balance at participating businesses. Registration is optional for spending, but required for blocking a lost card and transferring its remaining value. Promotional benefits also require registration. [S02]

The online shop issues PDF vouchers immediately after purchase, with a recipient-email option. Private purchases carry no processing fee and are limited to five vouchers per order. Corporate purchases attract a 5% processing charge plus VAT, while employers can use a separate employee-card arrangement. [S04]

Private purchases are explicitly fee-free and limited to five vouchers per order. The corporate 5% fee attracts VAT. This compares charges on purchased face value, not gift-card discounts or the separate employee-card tariff.

The two former paper schemes retain their own acceptance networks. TeckCARD says those old vouchers remain valid no later than December 31, 2029; it does not describe their balances as automatically converted into the new card. [S02]

Merchant and employer modules have different entry costs

The published standard one-time connection charge is EUR119 for a gift-voucher acceptance partner and EUR169 for the employee-benefit module, excluding VAT. These are separate participation routes, not two charges that every merchant must add together. Launch offers waive the gift-module charge for the first 125 partners and halve the employee-module charge for the first 60 partners, with both offers limited to December 31, 2026. [S03]

Published standard merchant terms charge 2% of gift-credit redemption, subject to a EUR 0.20 minimum, excluding VAT. Loading gift value is free. Settlement takes place every two weeks through a SEPA mandate, netting loads, redemptions and transaction costs. Alternative pricing is available for certain low-ticket businesses and organizations. [S03]

Promotional service vouchers are billed separately at EUR0.35 per redemption, excluding VAT. Employee-card loading starts at EUR1.80 per card; the exact tariff depends on the arrangement. These charges apply to different operations and should not be combined into a universal fee rate. [S03]

The card combines digital gift distribution and partial redemption with merchant promotions and an employer-benefit channel. The operator’s launch announcement provides no completed sales or redemption totals from which to measure the local economic effect. A participating retailer, Bantlin, separately confirms acceptance at its three local stores; that supports availability, not an estimate of incremental sales. [S01][S05]
