Virtual Incentives announced that its global digital gift card catalog had passed 2,000 brands in July 2022. In a release dated July 26, the company said the number of brands had more than doubled during the preceding six months, expanding options for business reward programs serving employees and consumers internationally.
The catalog announcement listed availability across 57 countries and 72 currencies. Those figures described the catalog at that point in time, rather than a guarantee that every brand or reward denomination was available in every market.
For businesses distributing incentives across borders, Virtual Incentives highlighted the operational differences between financial systems and regional privacy requirements. It described its API as a way to connect reward delivery across multiple markets while managing recipient access and payment information.
The company said the API tracked more than 40 data points, including receipt and activation of rewards. Clients could use that information to understand recipient activity and adjust experiences in different countries. The security measures it listed included multifactor authentication, IP blocking and password rules.
Chief executive James Gary said the company's objective was to make reward and incentive payments easier to issue wherever a recipient was located. The expanded retailer selection addressed the choice available to program operators, alongside the delivery and reporting functions of the platform.
Virtual Incentives served organizations ranging from startups to multinational companies with payouts, employee incentives and consumer rewards. The July 2022 release presented the increase in catalog brands as the specific development; it did not name the individual retailers added during the six-month period.
