Yokohama’s September 18, 2026 announcement added ten paper shopping-voucher programmes across twelve shopping districts, with approximately 360 accepting businesses planned. The additions belong to the city’s existing support funded through the national grant programme addressing higher living costs. Each voucher is redeemed within its own participating local network. Purchase units change the amount of cash needed upfront

The listed offers add either 20% or 25% to the purchase price. Okurayama’s joint Elm and Lemon Road offer and Hoshikawa provide 20%; the other eight provide 25%. Sakonyama’s JPY2,000 set has the lowest set purchase price, while several districts require JPY10,000. Minamikawa also permits individual vouchers: JPY800 buys JPY1,000 of spending value. [S02]

Local terms also affect use. Bashamichi’s flyer requires cash purchase and caps each buyer at three JPY10,000 booklets, valid September 28, 2026 to January 13, 2027. Nagatsuta’s flyer also caps purchases at three booklets, limits buyers to adults aged at least 18, and sets November 30, 2026 as the last use date. Its JPY500 vouchers do not provide change, and purchases cannot be refunded or extended. These issuer-specific conditions should not be assumed to apply identically to every district. [S04][S05]

Planned issuance is different from later sales status

The September schedule assigned quantities to each offer, ranging from 700 sets at Isezakicho 7-chome to 5,000 at Sakonyama. Because set values differ, total planned face value is a better measure of the spending capacity offered than set counts alone. The chart multiplies each announced quantity by its face value; it does not measure redeemed spending. [S02]

Calculation: announced sets × face value per set. Fujidana uses the exact published 2,083 sets, giving JPY15,622,500. No assumption that all planned vouchers were issued, bought or redeemed; no estimate of additional economic activity.

Sales were scheduled from September 23 to October 15, with first-come allocation until supplies ran out. The joint Kanazawa Bunko offer and Sakonyama were scheduled for October 10, followed by Hoshikawa on October 15. The announcement sets purchase ceilings of JPY20,000 for Okurayama and JPY30,000 for the other listed offers. [S02]

The city’s current page, updated October 7 and reviewed October 19, marks Okurayama, Nagatsuta, Bashamichi and Fujidana sold out. Machi Toku’s earlier October 5 review already noted the first three as sold out. A missing sold-out label does not establish that an offer remains available. These later status notices do not disclose redemption or incremental merchant revenue, and the ten local paper programmes remain distinct from Yokohama’s separate digital voucher arrangements.
