YOUGotaGift outlined how employers could use digital gift cards and the multi-brand HappyYOU Card in a May employee recognition calendar, in guidance published on April 25, 2025. Its examples connected personal rewards with team activities around World Laughter Day, International Tea Day and World No Tobacco Day.

For team activities, the company suggested accompanying a gift card with an individual message. The recommendation combined a financial reward with personal recognition, rather than relying on the card alone to communicate appreciation.

Tea breaks provided another example. YOUGotaGift proposed café or grocery rewards around International Tea Day on May 21, giving employees a way to choose refreshments for themselves or a shared break.

For World No Tobacco Day on May 31, the guidance suggested rewards connected with fitness, healthy dining, books or wellness services. These were programme ideas presented by the company, rather than evidence that a reward changes a recipient’s health behaviour.

YOUGotaGift also described its HappyYOU Card as offering access to more than 1,000 regional brands at the time. The company positioned that selection as a way to accommodate different employee preferences within one seasonal reward programme.
