Gijón’s local-shopping rewards programme has allocated its entire EUR500,000 credit budget, closing generation on October 6, five days ahead of schedule. Unión de Comerciantes del Principado de Asturias reported the result as the programme moves towards spending the accumulated balances. [S01]
The association recorded EUR2,148,474.44 in purchases across 18,918 operations, involving 9,473 customers and 462 participating shops. These are reported programme transactions, without evidence separating incremental sales from purchases customers would have made anyway. [S01]
An earlier operator report provides a like-period comparison for the first 14 days: EUR1,000,785 of purchases in 2026 versus EUR777,790 in 2025. Those opening-period figures are distinct from the completed 2026 generation-phase total above and do not isolate additional spending caused by the programme. [S02]

Customers earned restricted merchant-spending credit equal to 25% of their purchases, up to EUR200 per person. The published totals therefore distinguish money spent while earning rewards from value earmarked for later transactions. [S01]
Redemption runs from October 15 to November 15. Customers may apply their balance to half the cost of a subsequent purchase, with a EUR50 reward limit per transaction. This requires additional customer spending when the credit is used. [S01]
The October release supplies new allocation and transaction results. It does not establish completed redemption, merchant profit or unrestricted cash value. Tracking the next phase separately will show how much of the allocated balance is actually used at the participating retailers. [S01]
